STUDY ON OVARIAN TUMORS IN PEDIATRIC AND ADOLESCENT GIRLS IN A TERTIARY CARE CENTRE

Background of study: International treatment guidelines dedicated to children and adolescents are not yet established, hence need for such studies like ours is required throw light on demographic variations ovarian tumors developing specific their management. Materials Methods: It a descriptive longitudinal study undertaken in the Department Obstetrics &Gynaecology from Feb 2018 July 2019. According prevalence our setup, 50 cases adolescent girls were taken subjected thorough clinical assessment investigations. After proper diagnosis, surgery was performed all depending upon histopathology cytology, adjuvant chemotherapy given selected cases. Patients followed up till 6 months after discharge. Results: The most common symptom found be abdominal pain (42%) , sign mass (38%). Out cases, 12% malignant, germ cell origin. Epithelial tumors(52%) 20 years age, out which benign had 48% epithelial However, 10 (75%). Only 1 malignant case expired, belonging mixed variety advanced stage. Conclusion: Ovarian neoplasm highly challenging, especially due fertility preservation. Early detection, optimal therapy intense follow with psychological support patients families mainstay treatment.
